American Open

Tennis is a world renowned game which is popular in USA. During the year, a number of tennis tournaments played and the U.S open is one of the prestigious tennis tournaments.

The U.S. Open starts from two separate tournaments: the men's tournament and the women's tournament. The event was first time held in August 1881 and takes place at the Newport Casino, Newport, Rhode Island only men's singles. The championships were recognized as the U.S. National Singles. This world famous tennis tournament held between August and September.

American Open Championships

This tennis prestigious tournament includes total five different event championships:

men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, and mixed doubles, with additional tournaments for senior, junior, and wheelchair players. At present time it is the richest tennis tournament in the world with over $14.5m in prize money. The first U.S open singles winner was Richard Sears - who won without dropping a set - and he went on to defend his title fruitfully for the next six years. US Open Championships was firstly played on grass till 1975 changed surface to clay. Another surface change was in the 1978 when US Open starts to play on the hard courts surface and currently this tournament still playing on hard court surface.

The U.S. Open grows in exclusive entertainment event for the high society family. The U.S. Open Tennis Series is a series of tennis competitions where professional tennis players play.
